Note on some of these: Australia does have bigger mountains in their Antarctic claims, and on Heard Island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Puncak Jaya is arguably the true high point of the australonesian continent, as New Guinea and Australia were connected in the last ice age. However, it is not located on mainland Australia.

The highest point in Europe is Elbrus, as Elbrus is located on the "European" side of the Caucasus Mountains. Outside of the Caucasus, the highest point in Europe is Mont Blanc in the Alps.
