Thanks! Unsure on the correct grammar there. I was quite surprised by some of the countries that made the list, hopefully some more of the biggest polluters can make it onto this list in the coming years following COP26.
I think that highlights how little other countries are doing. I should mention that as per the Climate Change Performance index, 'No country performs well enough in all CCPI index categories to achieve an overall very high rating. The first three positions in the overall ranking therefore remain empty. This says a great deal. Even if all countries were as committed as the current frontrunners, it would still not be enough to prevent dangerous climate change.' ...Says it all.
Absolutely! According to the CCPI, 'Indonesia shows high performance in the Renewable Energy category. In the Energy Use and Climate Policy categories, the country ranks as medium, while it earns a low for GHG Emissions. This gives Indonesia an overall medium performance.' I wonder if they realise that deforestation and forest degradation account for up to 20 per cent of global man-made CO2 emissions and that Indonesia lost 115,459 hectares of forest cover in 2020 from activities such as logging and conversion of land into palm oil plantations in 2020 (WWF).
