Can you name all of the teams to have played in the English Football League since its inception in 1888 that have been based within the boundaries of the historic county of Lancashire? Make sure to read the caveats!
Some answers will require you to enter the full team name! For example: "Burton Albion" instead of simply "Burton".
Includes teams that are located in present-day metropolitan counties and another that is now within Cumbria. Four of these clubs no longer exist. One team listed is the phoenix club of an earlier club that was dissolved, and entering its name will bring up both the current and former clubs.
One of these teams has been based in the historic county of Cheshire for over a century but initially played just over the Lancashire border and spent two years in the Football League at this ground before moving to its current home. It is included in this quiz. See comments for additional caveat.

Bower Fold, the home ground of Stalybridge Celtic, is situated within the historic county of Cheshire, a short distance from the old boundary with Lancashire. Stalybridge were members of the Third Division North for two seasons between 1921 and 1923. As of the 2022-23 season, they compete in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, part of the seventh tier of English football. Two other clubs, firstly New Brighton Tower and then New Brighton, also competed in the League in the past and were situated within the historic county of Cheshire, also a short distance from Lancashire. The sites of the home grounds of all three clubs mentioned are now within metropolitan counties which predominantly contain historic Lancashire clubs.
