War of the States #1: The Start of Conflict

The following story is fiction and not based on real events. I apologize in advance if this offends anyone.

This story takes place in 2021. COVID-19 doesn't exist. Every state is independent and the U.S. government doesn't exist. Each state is it's own country.

Washington D.C: Ugh! Without the Federal government's financial support, I'm dying here. I need some help. Maryland, can we talk.

Maryland: What do YOU want?

Washington D.C: I need some financial aid.

Maryland: And what do I get in return.

Washington D.C: Um....I'll get back to you.

Maryland: Typical D.C.

Virginia: Pst... D.C. How about we make a deal.

Washington D.C: I don't know. I'm thinking of something to give Maryland.

Virginia: I'll give you all the aid you need IF, I get half your land.

Washington D.C: Which half?

Virginia: Um, the southern part. The part that I border.

Washington D.C: Fine. But I also want to form an alliance.

Virginia: It shall be known as the Richmond Agreement.

Washington D.C: Why not the Washington Agreement.

Virginia: Do you want an alliance or not.

Washington D.C: Richmond Agreement it is.

Maryland: So D.C. I'm thinking I'll give you that aid, if you give me 60% of your land.

Washington D.C: Sorry MD. I already made a deal with VA.

Maryland: How dare you. You'll be sorry. Man I need an alliance to counter the Richmond Agreement. Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York, alliance?

Delaware: Heck yah, I really need the help.

Pennsylvania and New Jersey: I guess so.

New York: No way, as long as I got NYC, I'm good to go.

Maryland: Fine. Be that way NY.

Pennsylvania: Philadelphia Pact?

Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland: Fine.

Maryland: So, how about war with the Richmond Agreement.

Philadelphia Pact: Why?

Maryland: Because they betrayed me.

Philadelphia Pact: Let's go!

The Philadelphia Pact declares war on the Richmond Agreement. 

Maryland and Delaware begin invading D.C. by land, and Pennsylvania and New Jersey begin a naval invasion on Virginia. New Jersey makes landings in Norfolk, and Pennsylvania make landings in Virginia Beach. Maryland quickly takes over D.C, but Virginia begins invading eastern Maryland from Chesapeake Bay. West Virginia and North Carolina join the Richmond Agreement. Ohio joins the Philadelphia Pact. Ohio sends naval aid to Maryland to invade North Carolina, and make landings on the Outer Banks. Virginia continues advancing through Maryland. The naval invasions continue to be a success, while Virginia has taken over 40% of Maryland's land. The Richmond Agreement proposes a Truce. 

After the negations, all borders go back to the way they were pre-war, but Maryland gains all of Washington D.C. It creates a new state in it's country.

North Carolina: Man, that war really killed my economy. Hey SC, how about a union.

South Carolina: What's in it for me.

North Carolina: Uh, a improved economy.

South Carolina: As long as I've got my beaches, my economy is booming. Thanks, but no thanks.

North Carolina: Tennessee, union?

Tennessee: Sure, Missouri has been eyeing Memphis for a little while now.

Tennessee and North Carolina form a new country, and their name changes to New Carolina. 

Virginia: Hey North Carolina, can I borrow some troops?

New Carolina: Sure, but real quick, now that I've joined with Tennessee, I'm New Carolina.

Virginia: Okay. Hey New Carolina, can I borrow some troops?

New Carolina: How many?

Virginia: 10,000

New Carolina: How about 7,500?

Virginia: That'll work.

New Carolina: What do you need them for anyway?

Virginia: I'm training some new recruits, and were going to do some war games.

New Carolina: Fake weapons?

Virginia: Fake weapons.

New Carolina: They'll be there in about a day.

Virginia: Thanks.

West Virginia: Um... New Carolina, I uh, needs some military supplies, I uh, don't have much military supplies, which is uh, why I need it, so uh, can I have some military supplies?

New Carolina: *sigh* How much do you need?

West Virginia: Well uh, I guess I could use a lot, but if you don't have it, that's fine, I could just really use it, so that's why I ask for it, so I guess some weapons, and um, maybe some vehicles and um, ammunition, and um, anything else, you'll uh, let me have.

New Carolina: Okay! 200 tons of supplies. Best offer.

West Virginia: Yah, that would be, um, great, uh, thanks a lot!

New Carolina: Man, my allies are so needy.

South Carolina: Stupid New Carolina, always thinking it's the better Carolina. Union, hah! I'll show him. He'll join a union. Under MY control. Hey, Georgia, Florida. Here's a proposition for y'all.

Georgia and Florida: I'm listening

South Carolina: If y'all help me take over New Carolina, Georgia, I'll give you $500 million, and Florida, I'll give you 500 square miles.

Florida and Georgia: Are you kidding?! Now Way!

South Carolina: Fine! Be that way. Hey, Texas! $500 million if you help me defeat New Carolina

Texas: Heck no boy! Who do yuh think you are?'

South Carolina: Will anyone help me defeat New Carolina

Former United States: NO!

South Carolina: I'll have to look elsewhere. Canada? You in.

Canada: Why?

South Carolina: Well for starters, he's militarizing his border, two, he's threatening Myrtle Beach, and three, he's a jerk!

Canada: Sorry SC, no deal.

South Carolina: Will anyone in Europe help me?

Germany: Your reasons make no sense.

France: No deal!

Italy: Heck no!

United Kingdom: Sure mate. I'd love to get some land back. I haven't had a big holding in America for more than 200 years.

South Carolina: Well, you wouldn't get any land.

United Kingdom: See you later.

South Carolina: Fine, 10,000 square miles.

United Kingdom: Use Kilometers mate.

South Carolina: 10,000 square kilometers.

United Kingdom: I'm not stupid.

South Carolina: Fine. 15,000 square kilometers.

United Kingdom: Let's go.

South Carolina and the United Kingdom declare war on New Carolina.
