Yes. In fact, while "Gaul" (in French "Gaule") is the usual translation of the Latin word "Gallia", the two are actually etymologically unrelated: the former comes from a Germanic root that referred to 'foreign' (eg non germanic) people, and also gave words like Wales and Wallachia. I think the hint ought to be changed a bit.
I'm surprised so many people got Koln! The only reason I know that is because I took German in college. Did 57% of people take German in college, or are they just smarter than me?
By the way, the reason I marked this comment: the Reno question is, in my opinion, very bad and should be replaced. Or at least, the hint should be changed to something that is not a tourist slogan.
I'm not American, so I admit I know squat about US presidents pre-Clinton, but according to Wikipedia, William Harrison was born in Charles City County, Virginia. He studied at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, so grew up there as well (Father and brother also in Virginian legislature and House of Reps).

He was definitely born and raised in Virginia (with some time in Pennsylvania), but these things usually go by the person's "political base." Harrison moved to Ohio in his early 20's and was, among other things, a US Representative from Ohio's first district and a US Senator for the state of Ohio. Either way, this discussion thread has lasted months longer than his presidency did! ;)
I think that the Ural Mountains would have been a better choice instead of the Ural River, although it is currently widely accepted as the current border, for most of history it the Europe-Asia border didn't use the Ural River but it did use the Ural Mountains.
(Then tried "Jeri" to stick to 4 letters. Oh, ignorance, you are delicious.)

Mynamestats.com claims 320 155 Chads for 966 Malis. Those are just the first two google results, I'm willing to bet that others will be similar.
So, the short answer is: no.
