Kyle Chandler was not in Friday Not Lights the movie he was in the TV show and the show was set in Dillon, TX. The movie, set in Odessa, starred Billy Bob Thornton
As of 2017 it still says Kyle Chandler for the movie. If you want it to be correct for the TV section change Odessa to Dillon. Replace Kyle Chandler with Billy Bob Thornton and it's correct for the movie section.
Only one of the three guys was asked to work on Saturday in Office Space. That was a very small element of the plot. They decided to steal money because two of them got laid off (and one got promoted).
I got them all, but I suspect that's because the quizmaker likely came of age in the mid-90's, like I did. There are certainly much more noteworthy candidates for this list than some of the inclusions. Last Picture Show, Bonnie & Clyde, and Searchers are all classics and deserve mention. Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, From Dusk 'til Dawn, and Places in the Heart are less prestigious but still more significant than a lot of the films on this list. Hell or High Water is a very recent and excellent film that has "TEXAS!" written all over every frame.
I always thought it was intentionally ambiguous to best capture the spirit of how soulless and cookie-cutter those corporate operations are. As kal mentioned, it's a Mike Judge movie, which means it was probably filmed in Texas, so there might be some road sign or something that gives away the filming location, but I don't think the movie is really "set" anywhere specific.
There were a few of these I had no idea were set in Texas. Like dazed and confused, you would think some of those kids would have had a Texas accent if they all grew up there.
More suggestions that I've seen: Dallas Buyers Club, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The Last Picture Show, HUD, Giant, Tender Mercies, - but really surprised not to see Old Yeller on the list. Surely one of these would be better than Zombieland - but since I haven't seen it I really can't say for certain.
Good suggestions. I think Zombieland is better known than Varsity Blues, Tin Cup and Reality Bites. If we go by IMDb voting numbers, it has 10 times more than either of these. If it is a better movie, I don't know.
Walker was a terrible show with terrible acting in the worst time slot....yet absolutely everybody had seen it when it was in production. Hilariously bad I guess.
