Life-threatening is not a one-word term and may not be acceptable for that reason. Besides, I'm not sure that it has the exact same meaning as fatal/lethal, as it doesn't seem to be absolute. A life-threatening wound may kill you under certain circumstances, but not necessarily. A fatal wound will kill you no matter what.
I figured it was something like "nonagenarian"... sometimes I feel like everyone in media just learned the word "octogenarian" and just can't wait to find some way to work it into a sentence... but I guess none of my guesses got the spelling exactly right.
I was nonplussed that you left out my favorite word beginning with "non." I will be plussed if you add it. Also, nonprofits may make money, they just don't distribute it to owners.
i don't know if you are aware of it, but "nonagenarian" is the only word in which "non" is not a prefix of negation, but is part of the word's etymology.
In French chalant comes from the root chaloir which means 'to care' or 'to be concerned.' The same root gives rise to our words 'client' and 'customer' (as opposed to 'clerk' which roughly translates to 'doesn't give a rat's behind').
To be fair, a lot of those words are normal words with 'non' just added. Take the negative out of the clue and you'll have a quiz of definitions of random words ("one who drinks alcohol"; "containing milk products" etc.)
Sorry, but you could be extremely partisan whilst simultaneously being neither Republican nor Democratic. The creator of this quiz has revealed himself to be (A) from the US and (B) Insular. Every politician in my country is partisan though none of them belong to either of your political parties. Also, surely, even in the US one could be a communist (or something else) which would make you pretty partisan. You need a different clue, mate.
just got the pact one in time, guessed aggressive first. I most commonly see non-solvent on glue i.e. water based and safe for children add as a type in?
nonpartisan is incorrect for "neither republican or democrat". You can be socialist, communist, green tea or what ever and NOT be either republican or democrat. The correct "clue" should be "no political affiliation(s)"
Agreed. The proper answer is probably non-affiliated, although even that ignores that someone could be registered with a third party such as the Libertarian Party, Green Party or Minnesota's Farm Labor Party. Even if one is not registered with any party, he or she could certainly be partisan.
Yep - sorry this is not a good quiz. the first time I have thought this for over two years participating. You have simply added 'non' as a prefix to various words. And non-flammable is defintiely wrong. its flammable or inflammable.
How about non-affiliated for neither Dem or Rep?
I had a tough time with the spelling
