Tough one. Managed to get 11. If I'd had another 30 seconds would have got 15 or 16. Another 2 minutes and maybe would have got them all except maybe Iraq or Bosnia.
I forgot I'd taken this before. Took it again and scored 15 this time, better than last time, though I forgot Gambia and Lithuania which I got the 1st time around, and I got Iraq and Bosnia this time. I think this one's definitely harder than the longest coastlines quiz.
Forgot I had taken this twice and took it a third time. :P This time I got 15 again, though I missed different ones. The only two I've never got were Belgium and Slovenia. Belgium is always a surprise to me. Haha.
you're welcome. I managed to get all of them with 22 seconds remaining this time... I remembered taking it before but had forgotten I'd done so poorly.
Yes, Belgium surprises me as well. Interesting fact about the Belgian coastline: the whole length of it is served by a tram line, the longest single tram line in the world. So there.
For this quiz we are using the World Factbook data instead of our own data because there were some problems in our data with Singapore, Gambia, and D. R. Congo due to inaccurate coastline resolution.
If anything, that actually makes it easier to remember. If I tried telling you where the Halmahera Sea is, saying "Oh, it's near the Ceram and Molucca Sea in Indonesia" isn't going to help very much.
I like the idea but I'm afraid I lost interest rather once I realised it was substantially another "think of small island countries" one. Might be more interesting with island nations left out, or at least separated into a separate area.
Actually, only 9 out of 20 are like that, so your treshold for these things seems a little bit too harsh to me. Plus 7 of those are from the Caribbean, so you can just write down the Caribbean ones at the start and then proceed to the normal, slightly shorter quiz you were looking for.
'with one modification' let me guess, the Zionists are pretending Palestine doesn't exist again? It's almost impressive that you've managed to stick with this line for so long.
i mean Jetpunk is based on de facto situations and although I want \palestine to be a country, in reality it has no control over its own borders and most of its road and services are Israeli
Crazy how a country as big as the Congo has such a tiny coastline. Somehow it would be more believable if the entire country were landlocked rather than it being the way it is.
I missed Tuvalu, which I discounted as a possibility since I thought that it was composed of many islands. Well, not quite so many as it turns out, wikipedia says 3 reefs and 6 atolls. Even so Wikipedia also says that the country's area is 26 sq. km; I am struggling to imagine islands of that area that have a coastline only 24 km long.
I've got a great idea though. Why don't you make your own?
(I know, I know... that's what she said.)
*Remembers that Caribbean exists*
"OH..."
