This series of quizzes has really made me scratch my head at all the Englishmen who rag on America's imperialist tendencies. Because it seems the answer to "gained independence from in 19xx...." is always the UK.
I don't see many Brits talking about the USA's imperialistic tendencies. Maybe their obesity, ignorance of geography, silly sports, lateness to world wars, tolerance of school shootings, intolerance of universal healthcare... :p
I won't deny you on some of those, but the UK has a massive obesity rate despite stricter food restrictions.
Geography, which really should be taught more, isn't a huge concern, as many Americans stay within the country, and given our presence on the world scale & the sheer size of our country, many people don't need to know nor care about Cambodia or Burundi. Most of us know all 50 states, which suffices for most people. And I wouldn't be surprised about Brits knowing more about geography given how many countries you took over...
Might I also remind you that we literally hard carried most a ton of industry in World War 2? The War was won with British intelligence, Russian blood, and American industry and y'all, despite the valiance, would have starved to death and run out of everything without American trade
We really do need to fix our school shootings and healthcare problems though. Overall, we're a good country with big problems that we can do better on
I used the old trick of writing the name of the country in hope to get a freebie. Alas, I didn't think to add "city" to the answer. The only question I missed.
I was in Belize this past week and had to be saved by the Belizean Coast Guard. Long story, but don’t go ocean kayaking on a reef while it is windy enough that they’re cancelling snorkeling and diving tours.

Although I did actually NOT eventually get it... :-(
