Loki: Season 2 Thoughts
This show has been really great so far, and I really hope it doesn’t crash and burn like several other Marvel shows have done. I did not get around to episode 4 this month, so my review for that will be included in my December CQMB.
Episode 1 - Ouroboros: This was a very cool way to start off the season. It’s interesting to see where each of our characters left off, and I felt like this first episode was to ultimately introduce Ouroboros. The time slipping concept was dropped very quickly, but I felt it was a good plot point to get the ball rolling.
Episode 2 - Breaking Brad: In this episode we really get to see where Sylvie went after the season 1 finale, but I feel like a lot of this episode won’t have much significance by the finale.
Episode 3 - 1893: It was really cool to see the introduction of Victor Timely, as well as the continuation of Renslayer’s story. We see a new side of Miss Minutes, which I found oddly intriguing too. This episode may be my favorite so far.
This show had a great first half. I’m super eager to see where it goes.
Major Fantastic Four Update
Deadpool 3 is Delayed…
I think it’s a surprise to very little of us that Deadpool 3 has been delayed. There hasn’t been an officially announced delay date- the movie is still slated for May 3, but it has been confirmed that it will be moved from that date to a later one. Captain America: Brave New World has been speculated to be taking the place of the May 3 release date.
You Outta Here, Taika!
Reports since the release of Thor: Love and Thunder have stated that director Taika Waititi will not return, then after that they’ve stated that he’s been discussing idea for Thor 5, and now we’re hearing again that he will not be the director of the fifth film in the franchise. Along with many other people, I think this is a good thing since Thor: Love and Thunder did so poorly. And for those of you asking “why would you want him to step down? Thor: Ragnarok was great!” I agree with you. My only issue is that Thor: Ragnarok was good for it being slightly lighter than the other Thor films, which worked. But I don’t think Thor is meant to become any more extreme than what was shown in that film. As a matter of fact, I think he should return to a similar kind of character as he was in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But yeah, I hope Thor 5 can maybe tackle the struggles of Thor, and have actually gravity.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom DELAYED!
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been moved two days from December 20 to December 22. This has been the fourth time the movie’s release date has changed. Initially, it’s release date was December 16, 2022, then it was moved to March 17, 2023, then to December 25, 2023, then to December 20, 2023, and now to December 22, 2023. Hopefully this will be a good movie, knowing they’ve had to make several changes due to poor reception in test-screenings.
Marvel Studios Finally Noticed!
Well, Disney and Marvel have finally begun taking action on the poor quality of the Disney+ TV shows. There’s speculation of shows that may be canceled, that may be turned into specials, and all that. Some shows like Daredevil: Born Again, which already started filming earlier this year, is being completely reworked to avoid this problem from happening again. The show has an entirely new creative team, including Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead to direct (the people who directed Moon Knight & Loki: Season 2). There’s also word that the Wonder Man show may be canceled, despite the fact a lot of filming has already taken place. I just hope these changes have an evident and positive impact on MCU TV.
Brie Larson is Considering Leaving as Captain Marvel
Brie Larson spoke in interviews stating that she’s considering the possibility of not returning to the role of Captain Marvel due to the beyond massive backlash she’s received throughout the last four years. I’ve never particularly liked the Captain Marvel movie, but that’s not Brie Larson’s fault. She’s been portrayed in the MCU as a one-sided, bland character (I personally didn’t think she was as bad in Endgame), and everyone’s hating on Brie Larson for it. That’s like when people starting hating Wyatt Russell because they didn’t like US Agent in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. This kind of stuff isn’t fair, and Brie Larson deserves to be praised for her talent more so we don’t lose her. And hopefully The Marvels can do her character justice.
Spider-Man: Far From Home is Landing on Disney+
Taylor Swift in Deadpool 3?!
Taylor Swift has been seen alongside Deadpool 3’s director, Shawn Levy, as well as Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool himself. Her seemingly frequent gatherings with the people involved with the film have several people wondering if she herself is in the film. She’s been rumored to play The Dazzler, but nothing has been confirmed. What do you think about her possible appearance in the film? I’m honestly not surprised at this point.
Thank You!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this month's CQMB. Be sure to stay tuned for the next CQMB which will release on the first of December.
