I believe it is because in their culture it is a sign of richness and prosperity because they have access and can afford so much food, though I may be completely off and am just making stuff up on the spot.

pacific island states (brunei isnt one) have a high obesity rate cuz they import all their food, fast food, etc, + their genes are more fat retention i think

I feel like I need more explanations, especially the Hungarian facts.

For example, why is 96 so important? and why can't you clink beer glasses?

For your first question, it’s because 96 was given a special meaning when Hungary became independent in 896 AD. For the second one, when there was a bloodbath in Budapest, the leaders clinked beer as a type of celebration. I will try to explain better in the future, thanks for the feedback!
